Dr. Angelos Economides is a Consultant Urologist and Andrologist with advanced international training in minimally invasive urological surgery, endourology, and laser surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). He is dedicated to providing evidence-based, personalised urological care using the latest diagnostic and surgical techniques.

After graduating from the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague, Dr. Economides completed his specialist training in Urology in Germany at KKRN Marien Hospital in Marl, a high-volume tertiary referral centre providing the full spectrum of modern urological care. During his residency and subsequent appointment as Consultant Urologist, he developed extensive experience in the diagnosis and surgical management of both benign and malignant urological diseases.

His surgical expertise encompasses minimally invasive treatment of urinary stone disease, laser surgery for benign prostatic enlargement, uro-oncology, endoscopic surgery, reconstructive procedures, and andrology. He has a particular interest in endourology and continuously refines his surgical practice through advanced international training and participation in leading European scientific meetings.

Dr. Economides is currently based at Blue Cross Private Hospital in Paphos, Cyprus, where he performs the full spectrum of diagnostic and surgical urological procedures. He also provides outpatient consultations at Medipure Medical Center in Limassol, offering patients across Cyprus access to specialist urological care.

A major focus of his practice is the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Dr. Economides is among the relatively small number of urologists in Cyprus with advanced training in laser enucleation techniques, including Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) and Thulium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (ThuLEP). These modern procedures provide durable, minimally invasive treatment for prostates of all sizes, often allowing patients to avoid open surgery while achieving excellent long-term outcomes.

He also has particular experience in the minimally invasive treatment of urinary stone disease. His surgical practice includes flexible and semi-rigid ureteroscopy, laser lithotripsy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), aiming for effective stone removal and the fastest possible patient recovery.

His clinical work also covers the diagnosis and treatment of malignancies of the urinary tract, disorders of male sexual and reproductive health, female urology, urinary incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections, and reconstructive urology.
